Teaching Literature may come some people challenging but since I love literature I love to teach literature, too. But here is the question how can we teach literature? This week in the class we had a chance to see two great implementations of teaching language by using literature. The first one presented by Adip, you chose a short story you ask students to answer the questions by providing two versions of story. You scaffold and modeling the story after as a teacher you are sure that the students understand and discuss the features of the story you ask them to write their own stories collaboratively.
The second story was an interesting story of a student. Here much more interesting point was we produced as a class more than 100 hundred activities which can be done by using the story it was amazing.

I think we all enjoyed the brainstorming activity. It was helpful. I wish I had kept a list myself to edit for future use.
You can easily get all our lists from the discussion thread on D2L.
I also love literature and actually I see no problem in teaching it (as much as no problem and teaching go together). I have always used fiction books in my tutoring, they give me a chance to talk about vocabulary in a meaningful context, as well as come up with a bunch of activities.
